The Puppy We failed

As a Breeder, we do our very best to test the parent dogs

to look at the health of the ancestors...at the information provided,

to make decisions for the healthiest and most stable combinations of dogs,

to provide to you, our puppy buyers, a long lived, healthy,
fun loving companion.

As a Breeder, our first responsibility is to the pups.

we desire our pups to be family members,

to be with their families,

to know both indoors and outdoors,

to be loved regardless...

we ask our puppy buyers to stay in contact,

to allow us to answer any questions,

to assist in areas unknown,

to give us updates...

to train and socilize our pup,

but most importantly to care for and love our pups...
as a family companion.

To you?

This may seem like a cute puppy...

A Happy puppy...A Safe puppy..

An awww...look at that face puppy...

To you?

This may seem to be a pup...

A Pup taken out to be socialized
A Pup having settled in the pack

A cute pup...

To you?

This may seem to be just a young growing dog...

outdoors with the pack

Just a dog in the the snow...playing with other dogs

A dog who once lived in doors, in the breeder's home

A dog who lived and was loved by a human family...

The Breeder's family...
At one time, always eager to learn and eager to please ....

A healthy and a loved and intelligent puppy....

To you?

This may seem to be...

Just a growing teenage dog...

A dog whose parents are heavily critisiced...
A dog whose ancestry is heavily critisiced...

A pup who was said to have problems “with teething”...
complaints to the breedeers and
complaints that dog does not feel well – can not eat, is in pain ....

A pup who was said to have a skeletal problem ....
yet never taken to the vet....

Luckily, not due to the owner but to the natural growth of the dog the problems disappeared.....

Kind of a sad looking dog...?

Not a bad looking dog...

Just a young Leonberger Dog....

Who's owner finds no good...

Who's owner says no kind word of her, her parents, her breeders.

But she is much more than that...She is much more than any of these things !

Go back...look into the eyes of this "girl"..."Listen and hear what she is trying to say..."

To US ?

She is a responsibility that WE ignored...

She is a promise never kept...

She is a trust that was broke...

She is a reason for lost sleep...

She's our conscience..

She is our guilt...

She is the "puppy" that we failed...

A puppy placed “in trust”, that was turned into an object for a slanderous battle on breedlines, breeders and parentdogs ...

"Golden Girl” was a pup from the 2nd litter of our breeding alliance ....

Our first horrible mistake and experience...

Both as breeders and as "protectors"...

“Golden Girl” was a very sweet pup that we "sold/placed"

With a man who was “urgently in need” and begged so much
for this puppy...

A man who made us believe that he wouldn’t get “a quality puppy” for eventual later breeding purposes, ‘cause of his “enormous involvement and engagement for this breed”,
a man who made us believe that what he was offered otherwise

was “crap”
 – my / our fault........why didn’t I become alert at this time !!!

He wanted a Quality pup with the eventual option to show
and to breed....

From health tested parent dogs going back to health tested ancestry........
He was so convincing...

I / we had a contract, set up the way to “protect” the pup,
not the breeders, not the buyer but the pup .........

I / we had a questonnaire as well which was answered a long time before the pup was even born........it read nicely
....but was it the truth ?

There had been several requests for “Golden Girl” ....

From other European countries, from overseas......

but I / we did promise this man a “puppy"

A smart loving and healthy puppy from

because we trusted, we believed the questionnaire!

I / we were convinced “Golden Girl” would have a great life...

I / we were convinced to do “something good” to that “poor man” who would otherwise not get hold of a “quality pup”...

I had to “defend and explain” my decision to my co-breeder
and to the other parties interested in “Golden Girl”

I felt I did my job well!!

The arrangements were made...

contract signed by all parties and sent  back...

A few tears shed...as I said good buy...

A Promise that I was here if needed..

A Promise that I would get regular updates on her well-being...

Time went by...and after the first excitement
about the new puppy
Nothing but complaints after complaints...

At barely 6 months old the new owner was positive the puppy would never be for breeding...

The new masters seem to have the Crystal ball....

The breeders were accused of misleading and dishonesty....

The studdog owner the same...

The new master is a Saint...

A saint that even with his concerns never took the pup to a Vet.

The “saint” got a puppy with complete information on the health checks
health checks that went beyond the normal requirements for breeding...
The “Saint” got a puppy with X-rays of thorax and skeletal done....

With information from day of birth till the day he came
to pick her up....
The Saint was given the health certificate (EU passport)...
with all information on deworming, vacinations, puppy-check and registration at kennelclub...

A puppy already on her way to being “potty trained” from
week 3 of her life...

yet the Saint nothing but misleading and slanderous remarks of the terrible breeding...

Emails sent – offered PLEASE...Give me the pup back...

Offers of giving money back....

Offers of finding a home where she can be loved as a family companion

where she is appreciated and not only critisiced.....

For the reader that is reading this...it might mean nothing

But to me, to us ?

Golden Girl IS special...

She is a responsibility that I / we ignored...

She is a promise never kept...

She is a trust that was broke...

She is a reason for lost sleep...

She's my / our  conscience..

She is my / our guilt...

She is the "baby" that I / we failed...

A puppy placed “in trust”, that was turned into an object for a slanderous battle
on breedlines, breeders, parentdogs ...

And to you, my dear sweet, Golden Girl, pretty Belinda....

I am / we are so very sorry...I / we failed you...
